Jennifer Dillon

Jennifer holds a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, and an MA in Architecture with an emphasis in Cultural Visualization from UCLA. She specializes in archaeological illustration and graphic design. At the ETC, she contributes to 3D reconstructions of historical sites, and provides web design for online digital humanities research projects.

John Hopkins

John Hopkins researches art in the ancient Mediterranean world, focusing on architecture, spatial experience and cultural and societal change.  He has published on the social and architectural influence of the Roman Forum and Capitoline Temple and is currently finishing a book manuscript on the genesis of Roman architecture.

Ece Okay

Ece Okay is currently a PhD student in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA. Her research focuses on Roman architecture in Asia Minor, particularly on spaces of healing and the construction of the body in Roman daily life.After acquiring her MA in Leeds University on Architectural History, she completed another MA on Anatolian Studies and Heritage Management at Koc University. From 2006 onwards she has collaborated on various Heritage Management Projects around Turkey and has developed five-year Heritage Management Plans for the Calcolithic site of Aktopraklik in Bursa in 2007 and the ancient city of Zeugma in Gaziantep. As a part of the ETC team since 2009, she has worked on and assisted various mapping projects.

Brian Sahotsky

Marie Saldana

Marie is an architect and PhD student in the department of Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA. Her expertise in technology has contributed to several of the ETC’s digital projects. Marie holds a professional M.Arch degree from UCLA and an MA in Archaeology from the University of Durham, and serves as the Development and Outreach Coordinator for the ETC.

Elaine Sullivan

Elaine Sullivan came to UCLA in 2007 to act as project coordinator for the Digital Karnak Project, creating a multi-phased 3D virtual reality model of the famous ancient Egyptian temple complex of Karnak.  She has continued her focus on utilizing emerging technologies in the Humanities as part of the Keck Digital Cultural Mappping Program.

Pelin Yoncacı

Pelin is an architect and architectural historian in Late antique, early Byzantine architecture with an emphasis on the history of urbanism during Constantine the Great. She has worked for ETC’s digital reconstruction projects for Magnesia and Nysa in Turkey and late antique Roman Forum in Rome. Her current project involving VR technology focuses on late antique city gates and their processional usage. She is a PhD candidate at UCLA, Architecture and Urban Design.

Itay Zaharovits

Itay received his undergrad degree in Architecture from the University of Maryland and later completed his Architecture Master’s degree from the Department of Architecture at UCLA. He has been an ETC Research Fellow for four years, and has contributed significantly to many of ETC’s digital reconstruction projects around the globe including Rome, Santiago de Compostela, Karnak, Jerusalem, Albania and more. He is the lead designer of the Meth Apartment 3D environment project in collaboration with Ph.D student Christopher Culbertson of the Neuroscience department at UCLA.
