KARNAK

The enormous site of Karnak is an internationally significant temple complex overlaying and ancient settlement. It is extensively studied as representative of Egyptian culture. With funding from the NEH, UCLA faculty Diane Favro (director of the ETC) and Willeke Wendrich (director of the UCLA Encyclopedia of Egyptology) will be leading the development of instructional resources on Karnak to be made freely available online at the completion of the grant period (September 2008).

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

Diane Favro (UCLA), Willeke Wendrich (UCLA), Donald B. Redford (Penn State), Peter Brand (University of Memphis, Tennessee), and Betsy Bryan (Johns Hopkins University).

(To use this file you must have Google Earth loaded on your computer. Right click on the link and 'Save Target As ...' to your desktop. Double click on the file; Google Earth will launch. In the 'Place' section of the left sidebar, double click on the 'Karnak-web' entry. When Google Earth has relocated to Egypt, shift the time slider in the upper right corner to 201 BCE (this will cache the model for all time periods). Use as you would any other Google Earth 3-D model.)
